Day # 30- You Keep Me Hanging On

Yes, I admit, I have left the trip hanging.  Are we still in Amarillo?  Did we decide to continue on for more adventures?  Nope.  We are home.  I just left the world hanging and thought it was time to close out this Summer's trip.

Amarillo was an interesting town.  It seemed stuck out in the middle of nowhere and the people were all laborers of some kind.  However, all the buildings looked brand new and all the places we went were incredibly clean.  I say the part about it being clean because of the amount of dust and dry land all around.  Anyway, before we hit the road we took a chance by popping in a few stores.  Loren's figures that he collects had just released some new items.  We walked right into the stores and found them on the shelves.  This would have never happened in Austin.  I guess there are far fewer collectors in Amarillo.

We finally hit the road and had a mostly uneventful trip the rest of the way home.  We did get behind a uhaul on a 2 lane road and had to follow at 45mph for far too long.  This got Loren's road rage meter over the top and it was an unpleasant stretch of road until I could finally pass.

We made it home about 7:00 and basically fell into our bed.  We dream all year about our summer adventures, but nothing can compare to our own bed and our own space.  Now it's back to the real world and back to planning next year's trip.  So as always, stay tuned!
