Day #13- Do You Know the Way to San Jose?

La la la la La!  We know our way to San Jose and loved our day there.  We spent today taking not one, but two tours of the Winchester Mystery House.  We took the regular tour that has been open since 1923- a mere six months after Lady Sarah Winchester passed away.  Then,  we were privileged to be in San Jose at just the right time.  Hardly a month old is the new Explore More tour.  This tour took us to places of the home that have never been open to the public.  We had to wear hard hats thru some of the tour due to the rooms being damaged from the 1906 San Francisco earthquake or unfinished during building.  I would have loved time to explore and get lost, but the tour guides were very strict.   I was disappointed to learn that none of the furnishings belonged to the house originally.  Sarah left all of her belongings- but not the house- to her beloved niece.  Her niece took what she wanted and auctioned off the rest.

While we did not spot any spirits, I think we were taking to Sarah with our ghost hunting tools.  We had to keep our equipment hidden as no cameras are allowed in the home and we didn't want non believers to think we were nuts.   According to Sarah, she did not die of a heart attack, but of something much darker.  At least that's what whoever was communicating with us thru our device told us!

Alas, we made it out of the home without falling from the second floor out of the door to nowhere.  Tomorrow we head to San Fran for our Alcatraz tour.  Stay tuned!
