Day #16- I Left My Heart in San Francisco

Today we say goodbye to San Francisco.  We really loved being in the middle of the city- having to wear a jacket in the middle of the summer, being able to walk to anywhere we wanted to go.  Everywhere we wandered, we looked at the homes and apartments, imagining ourselves living there.  We always thought we wanted to move to NYC someday, but San Fran has the same feel, yet seems cleaner and safer.  The only draw back are the hills.  My Lord.  Our area and on down to the warf was fine, but a few blocks over-forget about it!  Any place that has steps instead of a sidewalk is not something I want to be climbing.

Stan wasn't happy about those hills either.   We didn't drive him until today and he had to endure hill after hill while trying to get us on the 101 to Grover Beach.

Traffic was stop and go and it took us longer than expected, but we finally arrived in Grover Beach.  Phyllis had the garage door and the door into the house wide open, so we walked right in.  She was on the phone, but looked up and saw me and yelled, "She's here!"  That sure was a sweet greeting!

Loren and I looked thru photo albums tonite.   He loved seeing mom and Pops young and having fun.  He also saw me hogging the photo space anytime anyone was opening presents or having a party.  It seems crazy to me that I don't remember a time in my life that Phyllis wasn't around.   I have no idea what are plans are until our anniversary on the 16th.  So, I guess you will just have to, as always, stay tuned.
